1.29 7th Grade Boys Basketball vs South Hamilton

On Monday, January 29, the 7th grade boys basketball team played against South Hamilton in the Ellsworth gym.  The A Team took the win of 19-17. The B Team lost 16-23, but put up a good fight

The A Team played a very good game. Within the first half they were up 8-2. As they got to the end of the third quarter, South Hamilton started to catch up, with the score being 15-20. In the fourth quarter, the teams were tied with less than minute to go. In the last 20 seconds, Cade Knop stole the ball from the Hawks and scored the winning basket. Coach Cary Thompson was very happy with the ball pressure and help-side defense.

Some players that contributed to the team were Carson Rhodes with eight points, Karter Beving with six points, Cade Knop and Noah Widen with two points, and Carson Mathers made a free throw.

The B team may have not of won, but it was a hard fought game. Mazy Hanson scored eight points, Carson Mathers scored four, and Colyn Groat and Aiden Thompson both scored two. Coach Thompson was very proud of how they played. Their play during the fourth quarter was the best they’ve ran their offense all year. The B team is now 1-2 this season.
