On Friday, February 2, the Nevada varsity boys basketball team played against Gilbert. They lost 67-80.

“It was a hard fought game.  Both teams had been playing well.  Nevada wanted a lower scoring defensive battle and Gilbert wanted a faster paced higher scoring game.  We weren’t able to get enough stops and rebounds and the game went at the pace Gilbert wanted it.  Gilbert also made 13 of 22 3’s which was too much for us to overcome,” said Coach Chris Hinson.

For Nevada, Trent Stahl had 31 points, Luke Merfeld had 12, and Devin See had seven. With rebounds, Luke Merfeld had eight, Om’Unique Wilkerson and Devin See both had seven rebounds.

“Trent Stahl obviously had another terrific game with a career high 31 points.  Luke Merfeld also played really solid inside for us.  Om’Unique Wilkerson was also playing well for us but struggled with foul trouble,” said Coach Hinson
