The varsity boys basketball team played the Winterset Huskies on February 19 in Winterset. The Cubs lost 50-70, ending their season with a record of 10-13.
Coach Hinson said, “We had a good week of practice and a good game plan. The game just didn’t work out the way we wanted it to.”
The Cubs were led by Om’Unique Wilkerson with 12 points and five rebounds, Luke Merfeld had 10 points and eight rebounds, and Jack Higgins had five points and six rebounds.
“We actually did a good job of holding down their top two players, but their secondary players did a nice job at both ends of the floor. We had a nice second quarter, but couldn’t continue that momentum into the second half,” said Coach Hinson.
