On April 21, the girls varsity soccer team played Ballard in the Nevada Tournament. The girls ended up winning, 1-0 after a scoreless game and two overtimes. Amanda Fortmann, Kacie Rewerts and Hannah Thomsen scored PKs in the shootout to give Nevada the victory.

Erica Sporrer really stepped up in her first varsity action this year, taking over in the goal for Grace Francis who was injured. Erica didn’t get a lot of action during the game, but played a crucial role in the shootout, stopping Ballard’s final shooter and allowing Hannah Thomsen to seal the deal for Nevada.

“We did most things well for the game except finishing. We need to relax in the final third and execute better in that area of the field,” said Coach Randy Davis.

The girls play Iowa Falls at home tonight, April 24.
