On October 4th, the girls varsity cross country team ran at South Hamilton and placed fourth overall. Our best runner, Eliana Hornbuckle, placed 11th and ran the course in 21 minutes and 10 seconds. The team scored 121, with an average time of 21:50

The varsity boys placed 9th but they were without three of their varsity runners – Dalton Baker, Noah Nusbaum, and Carter Franzen.

“We were resting those three because they were dealing with some injuries,” said coach Ted Johnson

Their best runner, Jacob Sanders, placing 31st and ran the course in 18 minutes and six seconds..The boys team scored 270 and had an average time of 19:07.
Coach Johnson said, “It was our best meet of the year by far, and we had some pretty tough competition. The teams that beat us are all ranked teams.”

The course they ran on was mostly flat except for a few hills. The weather was cool which most runner tend to do well in.

The Cubs compete at Districts in Pella on Thursday, October 18.
