An energetic game full of excitement for the JV volleyball team led them to win against the Gilbert Tigers on October 9. Set two had the squad digging deeper than the first set, but the team left the night with a 2-0 win.

The energy on the court during both sets were much better than seen in past games. Encouragement and positive attitudes were key factors in the win. Pulling ahead and staying ahead was an easy job, and so was serving. Bridget Patterson helped her team by adding many aces to the scoreboard, and she helped increase the lead during both the first and second sets. The team finished off their match with only one missed serve and good passing.

“We also had great serve receive which allowed our setter to run better offense,” said Coach Catie Neuman.

With great serve receive comes a time to run a better offense. Running a quicker, harder and more aggressive offense was a goal and focus coming into the game. Covering each hit and having constant communication became more and more attainable as the match went on.

With a record of 22-1, the girls continue to improve their game each game. The JV team concluded their season at the Johnston Tournament on Saturday, October 13.
