1.26 Varsity Wrestling at Guthrie Center

On Saturday, January 26, the varsity wrestling team traveled to Guthrie Center for the Charger Invitational.

The Cubs had three wrestlers that went to the tournament; Noah Nusbaum, Jacob MacVey, and Camden Vincent.

Nusbaum wrestled in the 135 weight class. Nusbaum had a rough night, losing both his matches. Nusbaum had a tough fought first match, falling short to Carson Hilgenberg of Coon Rapids-Bayard, 23-24.

MacVey placed 6th at the invitational in the 195 weight class, scoring nine team points for Nevada by winning a match and having a bye.

Vincent placed 7th for the 285 weight class, scoring seven team points for Nevada. Vincent won two matches along with receiving a bye the first round.

“Camden Vincent and Jacob MacVey did well at the varsity level. Although we did not have the success we wanted,” Nusbaum commented about his teammates.

The 2018-2019 season concluded with sectionals last Saturday, February 2.
