On Saturday, January 19, the varsity boys basketball team fought hard against Webster City but were defeated.  The final score was 74-50.

Webster City was ahead in the first quarter 21-12, but in the second quarter, the Cubs outscored the Bobcats.

Webster City dominated the rest of the game scoring 41 points in the second half.  The Cubs only scored 20 points in the second half.

Tyler Sansgaard was the leading scorer with 18 points.  Brayden Bottorf also had a great game, scoring 11 points.

“I was proud of how our kids fought back in the second and third quarter. With the lack of practice, we had a good effort in trying to get back the lost points in the first quarter,” said Coach Tyler Struck.

The loss against Webster City was a setback for the Cubs, but they fought hard despite the lack of practice.

The next game for the Cubs is Monday, February 11, at Boone.
