On Thursday, Feb 21, the 8th grade boys basketball team took on the North Polk Comets. The Cubs fought hard, but the Comets’ outstanding shooting, along with their lightning fast speed, was too much for Nevada. The final score for the ball game was 14-63, Comets.

Carson Rhodes was the leading scorer with seven points on the night. Cade Knop, Karter Beving, and Anthony Hughn all had a basket.

“We ran into a buzz saw that night,” said Coach Corey Barloon. “The boys played hard, but we couldn’t match the quickness or the shooting of North Polk.”

The Nevada B team lost 50-8, following the A game. Griffin Tamburo lead the B team with two baskets.

The C team fell 17-24 through 2 quarters. Payton Mesinski was the leading scorer with six points. Brendan McGaffin and Quintin Adams both contributed a basket.
