The varsity girls golf team placed first, with 397 points, on Thursday, April 18th, at Indian Creek Country Club in Nevada.

“It wasn’t nice weather that day, which seemed to affect scores from players. But, overall I was pleased,” said Coach Mike Lawler.

Nevada had six players in the top ten individually, including, Emma Griffin with second, Ashlynn Sporrer with third, Kelby Rewerts with fourth, Grace Cahill with fifth, Caroline Ausman with seventh, and Bianca Sponseller with ninth.

Also since Nevada boys and girls varsity golf teams both placed first at the Co-Ed meet they also won the school overall meet and were awarded with a plaque.

The Cubs next meet is on Thursday, April 25, at Marshalltown.
