On Monday, May 13, the Nevada Cubs JV boys soccer team played at home against the Bondurant-Farrar Blue Jays. The beautiful spring weather conditions were perfect for a hard fought battle. The two teams performances didn’t disappoint the attending fans. The Cubs won 2-1.

The first half ended in a deadlock. Miquelo Gonzalez was the first to score for the Cubs with a near post shot. Then the Bluejays fought back to get a goal with a few minutes remaining in the half to tie Nevada, 1-1.

JV player Noah Nusbaum said, “We played well, and communication and connecting passes through the Bondurant defense is what won us the game.”

The Nevada coaches stressed consistent execution at halftime. The Cubs players responded and kept the game close till the last minute of the game. The difference maker of the game was when Seth Brown crossed the ball to the far post for a assist to Eric Bell. That proved to be the winning goal as the Cubs went up 2-1.

The Jv boys soccer last regular season game is on Friday, May 17, at Newton.
