The JV boys basketball team beat the Greene County Rams, 64-59, on Tuesday, January 15th, at home. The Cubs played a great game with a quick offense and physical defense even after a late comeback by the Rams.

Nevada’s top scorers were Cooper Bovee with a performance of 25 points and Henry Nelson with 14.

“The guys scored really well in the post, along with great defense,” said Coach Greg Baethke.

During the fourth quarter, the Cubs couldn’t seem to find rhythm as they missed a few shots that helped the Greene County Rams shorten the deficit. Fortunately, the boys were able to get to the hoop enough to keep the Rams away from a late comeback win.

The JV boys fought their way to a strong 9-4 record and standing at 8-1 in the conference.

The Cubs will travel to Roland-Story to take on the Norseman on Thursday, January 24.
