The 7 grade boys basketball played against Gilbert on Thursday, January 25 at home. Both A and B team lost, but weren’t willing to lose without a fight.

A team’s final score was 16-30. The Cubs started off strong with a 5-1 lead. As they got to the end of the first quarter, though, they were down by five. When they got into the second half they struggled and weren’t able to come back. The team fought hard but the Gilbert players had a little more experience. As the season progresses, the Cubs will improve and gain more experience and be able to win the next game against Gilbert.

Some players that really contributed to the team were Karter Beving who scored nine points, Carson Rhodes with three points, Cade Knop and Noah Widen who both scored two points.

B teams final score was 8-34. Payton Mosinski, Carson Mathers, Aiden Thomson, and Dylan Fritz all scored one point during the game. The team played their hardest, but really struggled with their Gilbert’s defense and press.
