Girls Golf at Veenker and ICCC

Monday, April 23, varsity girls golf played at Veenker Golf Course in Ames.

Monday was a rough day for our team,” said Coach Mike Lawler. “But, it was full of learning opportunities and learning where we are developmentally.”

Veenker is known to be a challenging course. “Veenker is one of the toughest tests of golf there is for anyone, so it was a little overwhelming for our developing team.”

He was still very proud of the girls for their determination, focus, and for never giving up. The best scorer was Emma Griffin, with a 108. She placed 19th.

On Tuesday, April 24, girls varsity and JV golf played at Indian Creek Country Club. The team showed a lot of improvement over Monday.

Grace Cahill, Bianca Sponseller, and Bridget Patterson had their personal best rounds. For JV, Grace Cahill was runner-up medalist and scored a 58.
