The Nevada 9th grade football team keeps the undefeated streak alive with a win over Vinton-Shellsburg at Cub Stadium on Friday, September 21, 2018.

“We played a good Vinton Shellsburg football team,” said Coach Corey Barloon. “Our offense got to clicking early got up on them early with some gutsy plays by our QB, James Edwards. The defense, led by Cael Franzen and Caleb Kooiker, did their part and stopped the Vinton offense and held them in check most of the game.”

Towards the end of the first half, there were three kickoffs in a row ran back for touchdowns, two by Vinton and one by Nevada.  The second half went well, and the Cubs finished with the win, 41-26.

The Cubs’ next game will be Friday, October 5, 2018 at home against West Marshall.
