On Thursday, September 27, the middle school cross country team ran at the Iowa State cross country course in Ames with Ames Middle School being the host.

Coach Sara Gilchrist said the team ran fantastic, and it was the first time the team ran the full two miles, which ended up being 2.19 miles due to mud. Even with the tough course, Joe Dodson, Rowan Steele, Will Bauman, Frank Engstrom, Garrett Barber, Allison Kruzich, Josie Farmer, and Lynze Geerdes all set their new personal records.

Individuals that placed for the girls were Tori Meinecke with first place and Allison Kruzich with 14th.

The seventh grade boys came home with the second place trophy. Rhett Harter came in second, Zach Deveno in fifth, Carter Holland in 12th, Jackson Reid in 14th, and Rowan Steele in 15th.

Overall Coach Gilchrist was very proud of everyone’s performance, and she is excited for the next meet on Thursday, October 4 at South Hamilton.
