5.11 Girls Soccer at Nevada

The girls soccer team played in a tournament hosted at the Nevada facilities on Saturday, May 11. The girls played games against Grinnell and Panorama. The girls when 2-0 on the day.

The first game that the girls played was against Grinnell. The team had a shutout game winning 5-0. Coach Randy Davis said, “There was a lot of unselfish play, the girls making the extra pass to find someone open and moving the ball around and netting five goals.”

The second game the girls played was against Panorama. The team played their second shutout of the day winning 3-0. Coach Davis said, “The girls finished off the day with another good game. It was nice to see Mayzi Weig back after her knee injury, netting two goals in the second half of the game. It feels like we are starting to come together, and we are starting to get on the same page.”

The next girls varsity game is Monday, May 20, against Gilbert at SCORE.
