Jules Mazen

Nevada High School has a handful of foreign exchange students this year. One of them is a student  from France named Jules Mazen who everyone loves. He is funny, nice, and caring, and he is filled with personality.

Jul is also very athletic. He played rugby in France, but this year he decided to play football because Nevada doesn’t have rugby. Jules answered a few questions about his experience in the United States.

First, I asked Jul what it’s like to be a foreign exchange student, and he answered, “It is quite scary at first, I didn’t like leaving my family and friends but after a bit of time you get used to it. I think it is fun and interesting to learn a new culture and the people here are great”.

When Jules first started school here, he went out for cross country. He didn’t like it, so he moved on to football. Football is more like rugby, so that’s why he chose it over cross country.

“I like it because you can hit people really hard, and you have more protection. It’s fun to play when I get the chance to play,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to maybe playing basketball or wrestling. I really want to try another “American” sport or two. I am here to try new things, and that’s what I’m going to do.”

Jules is a great fit for Nevada, and we are all looking forward to getting to know him better.
